The Bad News:

You always hear the term "The Good News" and probably know it refers to the gospel of Jesus Christ, but you probably don't know what the "Good News" is, let alone what the "Bad News" is.  Well, here it is:

The Bad News:  You have already been convicted and found guilty of crimes (sins) against Almighty God, our Father the creator of the heavens and the earth.  A guilty conviction comes with a mandatory death sentence in the physical world, along with death in the spirit world, which is where we return after our physical death.  Spiritual death means eternal separation from God (life, light, joy, love).  The first humans made sinned against God, and we are all descendants of the first humans, and therefore we carry their sin because we are born of sin.  As we live our lives, we all fall short of the glory of God and his commandments for life, and therefore we multiply our sins as we live.

Even if we learn his commandments we cannot live them.  They serve to show us how dirty (spiritually unclean) and sinful we are, like a mirror shows us our reflection.  No matter how hard we try, we eventually fail in one or more areas with respect to God's rules.

The penalty for sin is death.  The Bible tells us that the sting of death is sin.  Many times when we sin it feels REALLY good, but it's a short-lived feeling.  Something bad is on its way to you, and only one thing can stop it...Jesus.

After death comes judgment.  Death is not the end, you either get sent to hell (abode of the dead, a dreary dark place of torments) or you get sent to heaven.

There is a day appointed for judgment of the heavens and earth and all the host of angels and peoples that ever lived in heaven, earth, or hell.   The dead will rise again, and hell and death and the sea will give up the dead in them.  The Lord Jesus Christ will judge everyone, and those people whose names are not written in His Book of Life, will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire with the devil and his angels (one-third of the heavenly host).  All others that have overcome will live in peace for eternity either on the new earth or the new heaven.

God doesn't want you to go to hell or the Lake of Fire.  It was meant for Satan and his angels.  There is The Good News.
